Activity Checks are an important part of an Investigator conducting their due diligence. In some cases, this limited surveillance includes location verification and welfare of the subject or entity.

In dire moments, sometimes researching information online or providing a Client with database information may not be enough to reasonably rely on. Much information can be obtained during an activity check, such as: precise vehicle description, movements at a residence, resident occupancy, health, employment, and much more.

What is an Activity Check?

An activity check consists of an agent conducting a check at a residence or specified location. This location is typically derived from intelligence that the investigator has gathered, or a location provided by the Client themselves. In some cases, these are also called “Health and Welfare” checks, which are done in good taste to ensure that a person or location is alive and well.

Starting an Activity Check

Here’s how the process works:

1. Request a Free Consultation:

Submit your case online or via phone to talk to one of our expert private investigators. Your detective will help you understand if and how a private investigator can achieve your desired outcome, and the likely cost of your case.

2. Connect With Your Private Investigator:

After a private investigator has taken your case, they will reach out to you to discuss your specific case details and goals. You should be prepared to answer questions like:

• What is the purpose of this investigation?
• What state(s) are they located in?
• What specific information are you looking to obtain?
• Are there any red flags already known that you want investigated further?
• What information have you found already?
• Do you want any individual owners or members investigated as well?

3. Investigation in Progress:

Once approved by you, your private detective will begin the investigation.

Private investigators may follow the person of interest as far as is necessary and within limits of the investigation and gather photographic and/or video evidence. Activity Checks are typically completed within 4 hours of field time, but may extend further if additional field time is required and if the case requires anonymity or covertness.

4. Case Updates & Final Report:

Your private investigator will keep you informed of any and all important developments throughout the course of your Activity Check, and provide you with a final written report summarizing all findings at the conclusion of the investigation.

In addition, your private investigator may be available to testify in court if necessary and agreed upon at the beginning of the investigation.
